The Nature Center
The Hueston Woods State Park Nature Center is open 7 days a week, year-round. Inside, you'll find general park information and several live native reptile species.
The nature center also has a Raptor Rehabilitation Program. On average, 50 injured birds of prey are accepted into the program a year. Nearly 50% of the birds are released back into the wild. The permanent residents include a Bald Eagle, a Rough-legged Hawk, several Red-tailed Hawks, Great Horned Owls, Barred Owls, and Turkey Vultures.
Naturalist Programs are offered monthly. During our busy season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), programs are offered Wednesday through Sunday.
